Mrs. Corene Foshee Wright's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Corene Foshee Wright, 89, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Monday, January 19, 2026, at 3:00 pm at the Rocky Creek Baptist Church. Randy Anderson and Dr. Josh Sammons will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Rocky Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wright passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on September 25, 1936, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Jessie Vernon Foshee and Hattie Mae Lett Foshee. She was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church.
Corene touched many lives over the course of her 89 years. Many of those were from her three decades as a part-time tour guide with the Southern Transportation Company. She had a contagious laugh, and people were drawn to her as a result. Her family was the light of her life and the legacy she left with them will be carried on for generations.
She is survived by her son, Lynn (Marcia) Wright; daughter, Lisa Woodruff; grandchildren, Jeromy "Woody" (Shawna) Woodruff, Benji Wright, Randi Woodruff; great-grandchildren, Marley Elizabeth Woodruff, Mary Collins Wright, Ryan Hadley Wright, Lauryn Elizabeth Haynie and sister, Agnes F. Allen
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Russell Foshee, Francis East, Hattie Sue Taunton, Mavis Phillips, Homer Lee Foshee, Eloise Bramblett, Curtis C. Faulkner and Kenneth I. Faulkner.
The family would like to express a heartfelt “Thank You” to the amazing staff at Chapman’s Healthcare Center for the excellent care provided to their loved one.
