Charlie B. Crouch III finished his race at his home in Jacksons Gap, on June 13, 2024 at the age of 55, surrounded by the presence of God, the love of his family, and being prayed over by his pastor Brother Donald DeLee. Charlie breathed out his last breath on Earth, and in the twinkling of an eye was face to face with Jesus, his Lord and Savior. He was Healed and Whole. His Journey of Faith through glioblastoma brain cancer was complete. Throughout this almost 14 month journey, Charlie never lost his unwavering Faith in the wonder working power of God's Word. Along this journey, the wonders and miracles of God were on full display as Charlie and The Lord passed by timelines and expectations of this devastating disease. During this time, Charlie exercised his mustard seed Faith as he battled through until his very last breath, letting his testimony of God's healing powers show through, even with such unsurmountable odds.
Charlie was born on November 28, 1968, in Alexander City; to Charlie Benson Crouch Jr. and Mary Burge Crouch. Charlie's Life truly began in 2005 when he gave his heart and life to Jesus His Lord and Savior, and his desire became a true testament of a life lived for Christ. Jesus strengthened him to be a Loving Hubby, Beloved Son, Honored Deddy, Grateful Poppy, Cherished Friend, and Most Importantly a Child of God who unapologetically worshiped God in Spirit and In Truth.
He Married his Beloved Wifey, Jessica Nicole Crouch on September 27, 2014 and their God given 1st Corinthians 13 Love story, although not nearly long enough, would be one of true sacrifice, selfless love, patient devotion to one another, and a testament to their Love and Faith in God.
Charlie dedicated over half his life to the open road as a truck driver, a job he performed with diligence and pride. He worked for Estes Express Lines the last 10 years of his life before diagnosis. For 14 years before Estes, he worked 3rd shift for Royster Enterprises hauling mail for the United States Postal Service. His CB Handle was "Tin Man". Charlie loved being a driver behind the wheel of a "Big Truck."Throughout his life, Charlie was an outstanding trumpet player, an avid fisherman, and a diehard Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. He enjoyed grilling, frying fish, and just any reason to fellowship with family and friends where he created a lifetime of cherished and treasured memories. Charlie adored his beloved dog Callie, her many "puppy loves", taking her fishing, and riding in his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado truck "Old Yeller."
Although he took great pride in his work, and joy he found in his hobbies, those were vastly overshadowed by the undying love he had for his family and even more so for his devotion and the love he had for his Risen Savior Jesus Christ. He was a faithful member of West End Church. Charlie's unwavering love for Jesus and his desire to share the good news of the gospel with everyone he met lead him to feel at home in any place that worshiped his Jesus. He, alongside his Wife, Jessica; Son, Noah; Brother-In -Christ, Lee Burns; and Brother-In- Christ, Jr. Morgan; made up the gospel group "All For Him." For almost 12 years, and even up until a few weeks before his home going, they went wherever God would lead sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through singing, preaching, and testifying about the Goodness of God.
Charlie is survived by his devoted wife, Jessica N. Crouch of Jacksons Gap: beloved mother, Mary B. Crouch of Jacksons Gap; daughter, Jessica (Ted) Morgan of Jacksons Gap; son, Brandon (Kayla) Crouch of Dadeville; son, Cameron Crouch of Alexander City; son, Noah Crouch of Jacksons Gap; grandchildren, Alexa Foshee, Chloie Crouch, and Connor Crouch; sister Angie (John) Nelson of Dadeville; brother in Christ, Lee (Ruth) Burns of Alexander City; cousin/ like a brother, Wayne Yarbrough of Jacksons Gap.He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Benson Crouch, Jr.; sister, Charlie Renee Crouch; and brother, Kenneth Crouch.
Charlie's legacy is one of devotion and obedience to God where his life lived up to Matthew 5:16 as the Light of Jesus Christ shone brightly through him. His Desire is for each and every one of you to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, so this will not have to be goodbye, but simply until we meet again.
The family would like to extend gratitude for every prayer and support throughout this time. The family will accept flowers, or donations may be made in his memory to West End Church, 3050 Old Dark Rd. Alexander City, AL 35010.
