Mr. Charles Wade Weldon Jr., 44, of Kellyton passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at his home. He was born on January 10, 1981 in Alexander City, to Charles Wade Weldon and Mary Calkins Hunter. He dedicated many years to the construction industry, establishing a reputation as a hardworking and reliable professional.
JR found joy in life's simple pleasures. A seasoned fisherman and avid hunter, he embraced every chance to be among nature. Additionally, his passion for automobiles was more than a hobby; it was a way of connecting with friends and loved ones, often while working on a car or two.
Above all, JR cherished moments with his grandchildren, instilling in them the same appreciation for life's adventures. His legacy is one of enthusiasm, craftsmanship, and loving dedication to family. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Hunter; sister, Debra Shaneyfelt; brothers, Dallas Weldon (Qwen), Jason Weldon, and Wayne Weldon; step-sons, Skarenski Odem and Kemoney Odem; grandchildren, Zofia Odem and Elijah Odem; his friends, Tafanie Watts, Cynthia Brown, and Armetria Kelley; nieces, Cristina Shaneyfelt and Journey Weldon; nephews, Roman Weldon, Levi Thomas, and Von Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Wade Weldon, Sr.; stepfather, Jimmy Hunter; brothers, Ricky Weldon and Billy Ray Weldon.
