Just found about Gene. So sorry for you loss . May the Lord give Maryanne and family peace.
I just recently found out about Mr. Gene’s passing. I will always treasure the friendship that he and my father (Ennis Berry) maintained over the years and both of their love for old cars. They truly had a lot in common. He always showed kindness and compassion towards me and my family and even fixed my car whenever I got stranded on my way to school at Auburn. I will be forever grateful. Please know that we are sending prayers of comfort for the entire family during this time. I’m sure that he and daddy are probably sharing laughs about all their car stories in heaven right now. May God bless the Tankersley Family.

My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. He surely will be missed. He was a truly great man.

Gene Tankersley and his son Ed have been an integral part of my life, especially in regards to my life-long passion for vintage cars. Having worked at one time for the Tankersley's at United Auto Collision, I learned life-long skills that have served me well in my hobby, but more importantly, I developed friendships that have stood the test of time for decades. I will never forget Gene for his guidance, friendship, and his seemingly endless supply of car stories, some dating back to his early memories of automotive adventures with his dad. Gene was always friendly, patient, and generous with his time and will be sorely missed. Sincerest condolences to his family and loved ones. May he rest in peace.
