Charles passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at his home. He was born on July 21, 1941 in Alexander City, Alabama to Otis Peppers and Laverne Self Peppers. In his life, Charles served his country faithfully in the United States Army. He also married the love of his life, Connie Jean, and continued that love for almost 50 years. Charles worked as an auto mechanic, starting in 1977, eventually opening his own shop, "Ourtown Garage." Known as the "Ford Man" by his community, he could work on any car that you brought to him, but Fords were his specialty. Not only did Charles enjoy working on cars, but he also enjoyed racing them. When not in the shop, Charles loved to go deer and turkey hunting. He cherished being with his family, especially his grandchildren, who affectionately called him "PawPaw" and "Short PawPaw." He was known for being a hardworking, kind, and dedicated man.
Charles is survived by his son, Brian Peppers; daughter, Kristin Leigh Peppers; and grandchildren, Charlee Ann Peppers, Palmer Peppers, Greenlee Peppers, and Cortlan Peppers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Jean Peppers, and his parents, Otis and Laverne Peppers.
