Mr. Charles Frank McManus' Obituary
Funeral service for Mr. Charles Frank McManus, 64, of Alexander City, will be Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of service at Radney Funeral Home. \r\n\r\nMr. McManus passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Brown Nursing Home. He was born on October 12, 1945 in LaFayette, Alabama to Grady Zachery McManus and Bernice Lucille Causey McManus. He was a member of New Elkahatchee Baptist Church. He worked for Russell Corp. and Avondale as a loom technician, where he later retired. He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking and tinkering with motors. He was an excellent cook and loved to bake cakes. Mr. McManus loved his family very much and enjoyed picking on his sisters. He loved to dress up at Halloween and loved to joke and cut up. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during Vietnam. \r\n\r\nHe is survived by his daughter, Kathy Ann Smith (Billy) of Salem, SC; son, John Earl Stroud (Martha) of Alexander City; four grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Bessie Parrish (Lester) of Alexander City, Polly Anderson (Rev. Bobby) of Dothan, Ann Ficquette (Darrell) of Equality, Lucille Thompson of Alexander City and June Sanford of Alexander City; and several nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Annie Ruth McManus.
