Charles E. Hulett, a gifted musician, master carpenter, and cherished patriarch, passed away at the age of 85 in Goodwater, Alabama, on February 9, 2024. Born on October 2, 1938, in Garnett, Kansas, Charles exuded a contagious zest for life that touched everyone he knew.
His career was as noteworthy as his hobbies, having served dutifully at the City of Sylacauga Utilities Department until his retirement. His tenure there was marked by dedication and excellence, reinforcing his reputation as a remarkably intelligent and capable professional.
As a revered family man, Charles's legacy lives on through his children - his son, Rusty Hulett, and daughter, Tammy Howze, along with her husband Ben and his beloved grandchildren, Jason (and wife Phyla), Justin, Jeremy (and wife Charley), Jessica (and husband Michael), and Kyle Hubertus. His caring nature also extended to his brother Mark Hulett and his wife Penny. Though he now joins his late son David, along with his mother Bertha and father Roy in eternal rest, the joy and wisdom he imparted remain a treasure to his family.
An ardent master carpenter, Charles's skillful hands brought beauty into the world. He was always ready with a quick joke, reflecting the funny and creative spirit he was known for. Also, an accomplished musician and songwriter, his melodies are an enduring testament to his artistic soul. In every aspect of his life, from scouting for the best deals to keeping up with trends on social media, Charles embodied a youthful spirit that belied his years.
His intelligence, humor, and creativity shaped a life rich in accomplishment and love, ensuring that Charles E. Hulett will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
The family will have a Celebration of Life service to honor Charles at a later date.
