Charles Brewer passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Chapman's Healthcare Center. Born on August 13, 1948, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, he was the son of the late Lehman Douglas Brewer and the late Juanita Huitt Brewer. Although he inherited his "Brewer" stubbornness honestly, Charles was known for being a man of integrity and bravery. He proudly served his country in the United States Army through the 101st Airborne Division in the Vietnam War. After the military, Charles found enjoyment as a truck driver working for Henderson & Coker where he hauled oversized construction equipment. He was also a Mason with the local Masonic Lodge.
Charles was a man of many talents. He loved fishing and, through his membership with the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society, he received many awards in various fishing competitions. His family would consider him a master carpenter from his unique ability to build anything-greenhouses, bookcases, birdhouses, etc. Charles worked in his vegetable garden and was known for his cooking abilities such as the homemade fried apple pies that were made entirely from scratch. There was nothing that Charles loved more than being with his family, especially his grandchildren who affectionately called him, "Paw Paw B." His fierce ability to love is something that won't ever be forgotten.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Tamara Lynn (Jeremy) Carter; son, Richard Jason (Heaven) Brewer; grandchildren, Arabella Love Brewer, Joshua Thomas Carter, Logan James Carter; brothers, Leon Douglas Brewer, Ricky Donald (Janice) Brewer; sister, Joyce Ann Winters; and spouse, Cornelia "Connie" Brewer.
The family is accepting the kindness of flowers, or if you would prefer to make a donation, please consider the Cancer Society, Parkinson's Foundation, or the Diabetes Association.
