Cathy, a beacon of light and love, passed away surrounded by the warmth of her family and the countless memories that she created with all who knew her. Cathy's spirited and generous nature shone brightly throughout her life, and her loving presence will be deeply missed by all.Cathy's role as a mother was one, she cherished above all. Her devotion to her children, Mike Nolen (Rachel), Amber Kellum (Roman), Amanda Platt (Griff), Tommy Farley, and Cheyenne Owens (Rickey), was unwavering. She nurtured each of her children with a unique blend of strength and tenderness, ensuring that they always felt supported and loved. The bond she shared with her grandchildren, Nathan Nolen (Kinsey), Michael Ann Wagoner, Addi Nolen, Thomas Whaley, Emma Nolen, Evie Kate Platt, and Lizzie Owens, as well as her great-grandchild, Rylee Lynn Nolen, was special beyond words. Each of them knew they were her pride and joy, and that their Nana was always just a phone call away.Cathy's mom, DeWanda Smith, and her siblings, Mary Browning, Valla Slaton (Mel), Thomas Wrubel, and Jeff Wrubel (Terrie), as well as her brother-in-law, David Jones, will remember her as a source of constant support and joy within their family. Her ability to celebrate others was effortless, and she genuinely wanted to see them do well in life. Each of Cathy's nieces and nephews, as well as a host of family, friends often referred to her as a second mom and nana. We are certain Cathy was greeted in Heaven by her sister Patti Jones as well as her special loved ones McWayne and Evie Nolen. No one loved gnomes, the beach, lake, and sunshine more than Cathy. She found peace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life, and her heart was most content when she was surrounded by the sounds of water and the feel of the sun on her skin. As a completely devoted mom and nana, Cathy's natural caregiving extended beyond her family. She was a true friend to many, always helping others out, full of laughter, and enjoyed making others laugh. Her compassion was boundless, and she always knew what to say to help others even in their darkest moments.Cathy's legacy is one of unwavering support and unconditional love. Her famous words, "I love you ALWAYS and you are AMAZING," were not merely a phrase but a heartfelt mantra that uplifted everyone around her. She lived her life as a testament to these words, embodying the very essence of what it means to be spirited, generous, and loving. As we say goodbye to our beloved mom and nana, we take solace in knowing that her spirit lives on in the many lives she touched. Her laughter, her kindness, and her remarkable ability to care for others will continue to inspire us. Cathy's memory will be cherished and celebrated, and her influence will endure through the love she shared so freely. We bid farewell to a remarkable woman whose life was a true embodiment of love in action. Cathy's presence will be profoundly missed, but the joy she brought to this world will never be forgotten. Her spirit will remain a guiding light, encouraging us to love ALWAYS, to be AMAZING, and to care for one another just as she did throughout her beautiful life.
