A Visitation to Celebrate Mrs. Carolyn Coker Starnes, 81, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Radney Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Park with Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating.
Carolyn Starnes passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at her home. Born on January 18, 1943, she was the daughter of Hugh Coker and Geraldine Lockett Coker. Carolyn was a true Dadeville resident, born and raised, with tales and stories deeply weaved throughout her family's history there. She and her husband, Henry Starnes, were truly a dynamic duo that created many memories together until his passing. Known for her loving heart and nurturing soul, Carolyn was always willing to help others. She became a safe haven to others, often raising and treating them as if they were her own.
Carolyn was a selfless mother figure to many and the biggest cheerleader, always showing up to support her grandchildren with band and sports. In her spare time, she loved being outdoors, taking random trips, and embracing the title of "Nana" to those around her. Carolyn loved to cook, especially dishes from her prized old western cookbook, eat, and enjoy the savory treat of a strawberry milkshake. Her adventurous and loving spirit will be missed by the countless children and friends that were blessed to have been loved by her.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Muniz; grandchildren, Landon Poston (Kailynn), Tyler Muniz, Anthony Muniz; siblings, Sarah Pritchett (Dick), Jerry Lynn Spears (Tim), Melinda Dean Holley; nieces and nephews, Matt Spears, Zach Spears, Kayla Spears, Michael Holley (Alicia); great nephew, Beau Holley; family friend, Brad Speaks (Julie); and countless other friends and family that she called her own.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bertram Starnes; sister, Ann Coker; and parents, Hugh and Geraldine Coker.
