Graveside Service for Ms. Carolyn Elizabeth Queen, 78, of Alexander City, will be Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Alex City Cemetery. Rev. Wayne Cowhick will officiate.
Carolyn Adamson Queen, a beloved matriarch and lifelong resident of Alexander City, Alabama, entered eternal rest on July 21, 2023. Born on January 5, 1945, Carolyn was known for her selfless love, generous heart, and a joy for life that was infectious to all who knew her.
Carolyn's life was characterized by a deep affection for her family and a passion for making others happy. Her talent in the kitchen was legendary. She found immense joy in preparing meals for her family, her cooking being a testament to her nurturing spirit. As a devoted mother and grandmother, Carolyn's home was often filled with laughter, love, and the irresistible aroma of her cooking.
She also had a penchant for the outdoors. Carolyn's love for camping, the beach, and the lake were well-known among her family and friends. She believed in the healing power of nature and enjoyed sharing these experiences with those she held dear. These moments of bonding and shared delight have become treasured memories for those fortunate enough to have shared them with her.
Carolyn's generous and loving nature was a light that guided her family. She poured her heart and soul into caring for her loved ones, always putting their needs above her own. It was this selfless love that defined Carolyn and made her the heart of her family. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of those she has left behind.
Carolyn is survived by Gerald Queen, and their sons, Ivey Queen (Lisa) and Chris Queen (Kim). She was also a cherished grandmother to Daniel Queen (Danielle), Will Queen (Lauren), Adam Queen (Gillian), Mandy Campos (Tristan), and Chal Queen (Briana). Carolyn's joy was further multiplied by her great-grandchildren, Kylee Grace Queen, Hannah Kate Queen, Nick Queen, Luke Queen, Olive Owens, Scarlett Queen, Clara Frances Queen, Millie Queen, Michael Campos, Bonnie Queen, and Elsie Queen.
She was preceded in death by her parents Chalmers Adamson and Ela Mae Caudle Adamson; her brother, Ivey L. Adamson; stepmother, Margaret Mary Adamson; great-granddaughter, Ivey Marie Queen. Their memories remain a part of Carolyn's rich tapestry of life, woven with love and cherished moments.
Carolyn Adamson Queen's life was a testament to the power of love, generosity, and selflessness. Her memory will continue to inspire her family and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. As we bid farewell to Carolyn, we celebrate her life, her love, and the lasting impact she has left on all our hearts.
