Mr. Carman C. Turner, a beacon of love and wisdom, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, at the venerable age of 83. Born on March 31, 1941, he lived a life characterized by gentleness, intelligence, and an enduring love for his family and friends. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, yet his legacy of kindness continues to inspire.
Mr. Turner, a lifelong resident of Alexander City, Alabama, was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Billie Turner. Together, they built a life filled with joy and companionship. His wisdom and gentle nature extended to his role as a father, guiding his sons Carman Clay and Kevin Lamar Turner of IL., with a steady hand and a warm heart. Though his son Clay Clayton Turner, Jr., preceded him in death, the memories they shared continue to be cherished by all who knew them.
In addition to his immediate family, Mr. Turner's influence reached his stepson, Jeff Waites, and his wife Dianne of Fitzpatrick, AL. His role as a grandfather was one he embraced with enthusiasm, always ready with a story or a listening ear for his grandchildren, Brittney (Charles) Brasington, Morgan Waites, and Wesley Waites. The joy of his life expanded with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Colt and Crew Brasington, who will grow up hearing tales of their great-grandfather's love and wisdom.
Mr. Turner was the son of the late Velma and Britton Edward Turner. His journey through life was also shaped by his siblings, Britton S. Turner and Arlin B. Turner, as well as his sisters, Eulene Maddox and Reba Adams, all of whom predeceased him. The bond he shared with his family was a testament to the enduring strength of love and the importance of kinship.
Those who knew Mr. Turner will remember him for his loving nature. He had a way of making each person he met feel valued and heard. His intelligence was not only evident in his words but also in his actions, as he lived a life of intention and purpose. Mr. Turner's gentle demeanor was a comfort to many, and his ability to navigate life's challenges with grace was admired by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we bid farewell to Mr. Carman C. Turner, we reflect on a life well-lived, a journey marked by compassion, understanding, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy that will be honored and remembered by all who were touched by his presence. His spirit, a guiding light, will continue to shine in the lives of his family and friends.
We take solace in the memories we hold dear, knowing that Mr. Turner's life was a testament to the beauty of a loving heart and the profound impact one person can have on the world around them.
