Calvin Wright Livingston Sr., a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. A pillar of strength and kindness, Calvin's legacy is one of unwavering love, dedication, and service to his family and community. He was a member of the Alex City Church of Christ.
Born to the late Falby Lezina Livingston and William Grover Livingston, Calvin was a lifelong resident of Alabama. He grew up surrounded by a large family and although he was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, the values they instilled in him carried throughout his life.
Calvin devoted 25 years of his career to Kimberly Clark in Goodwater, where he worked diligently and was respected by his colleagues. Prior to that, he worked as a pulpwooder, a testament to his strong work ethic and connection to the land. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to various associations, where he was known for his friendliness and willingness to lend a hand.
In his spare time, Calvin could be found outdoors, indulging in his passion for hunting and fishing. His love for nature was evident to all who knew him. Equally skilled with his hands, Calvin spent countless hours in his shop, where he brought his creative visions to life, and fixed anything that needed repair. His handiwork was not only a hobby but also a means through which he helped others, always ready to assist anyone in need.
Family was the cornerstone of Calvin's world. He is survived by his beloved children: Calvin Livingston, Jr., Jody Livingston, and Barry Livingston all of Goodwater, AL; Gina (Ronnie) Powell of Alexander City, AL; Connie (Timothy) Rollins of Wetumpka, AL. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Trish (Terry) Livingston, Melissa (Samuel Vazquez) Livingston, William "Willie" Livingston, Pamela Rollins, and Hunter Rollins; and his great-grandchildren: Sasha, Lana, Shem, Janaya Jayla, Japheth, Asher Vazquez, and Gavin Norwood. Each of them carry a piece of Calvin's spirit and teachings in their hearts.
Calvin will be remembered as a handy and creative soul, whose friendly demeanor made him a joy to be around. His ability to fix anything broken, his infectious laugh, and his enduring kindness are memories that will be held dear by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
As we bid farewell to Calvin Wright Livingston Sr., we reflect on a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to inspire. His was a life that exemplified the meaning of hard work, the importance of family, and the joy of simple pleasures. Though he may have departed from this world, his spirit remains a guiding light for his family and friends. May he rest in peace, knowing that his life was a testament to the power of love and the enduring strength of family bonds.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alex City Church of Christ, 945 Tallapoosa Street, Alexander City, AL, 35010.
