Mr. Bruce Daniel Poppell, 68, of Rockford passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at his home. He was born on May 30, 1955 in Savannah, Georgia to Clyde Jimmy Poppell and Alma Bishop Poppell. He worked as a Bail bondsman for 15 years. He enjoyed keeping his lawn, working in his workshop, and riding his Harley. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren,
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sheila Ellison Poppell of Rockford; sons, Nicholas Poppell (Rachael) and Micah Poppell both of Rockford; grandchildren Jackson Poppell, Savannah Poppell, and Isla Mae Poppell; brothers, Michael Whealton, Dean Poppell (Theresa), Wayne Whealton, James Poppell; Brothers-in-law, Perry Wren Ellison and Donald Ray Ellison,niece, Stephanie Ellison Lemke, Melissa Hatchett, and Amanda Olive, Stephanie Kendall, Crystal Pitts, Melissa Hadden, and Denise Saakowski; nephews, Patrick Ellison, Christopher Ellison, and Zack Ellison,
He was preceded in death by his parents.
