Brenda Mahan Fraim's Obituary
Brenda Mahan Fraim, age 74, passed away on December 31, 2023, in Mobile, AL. She was born to Luther and Mary Mahan on January 20, 1949 in Alexander City, AL, and later met and married Charles Fraim when in college at Auburn University. She completed her college studies after they moved to Mobile in February 1969 at the University of South Alabama. Mrs. Fraim was a resident of Mobile for 53 years and taught kindergarten and first grade for Mobile County Public Schools for 14 years. She was an active member at Christ Church of Mobile, AL. She loved studying the bible and was a member of the Bible Study Fellowship group for many years. She was a member of the neighborhood Winford Ladies Group where she made lifelong friends. She enjoyed volunteering at Richard's-DAR House Museum. Mrs. Fraim was passionate about sewing, embroidering, tennis, entertaining her friends and family and extensively traveling. Her most beloved place to travel was her vacation home in Dauphin Island, AL. Those blessed enough to be a part of her life will deeply miss her.
Mrs. Fraim was preceded in death by her father, Luther Brinnon Mahan and mother, Mary Dean Mahan.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Charles Fraim of Mobile, AL; daughters, Melanie Fraim of Mobile, AL and Misha Fraim of Alexander City, AL; grandsons, Hunter Vanderlinde (Amanda) of Metairie, LA, Charles Vanderlinde of Mobile, AL, and Bentley Austin Holley of Alexander City, AL; granddaughter, Mary Brinnon Vanderlinde of Mobile, AL; great grandson, Hayes Vanderlinde of Metairie, LA; brothers, George (Kay) and Tim (Cindy) Mahan of Alexander City, AL; sister, Ranona Mahan Hansford of Northport, AL; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation services will begin in Mobile on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Visitation services will also be in Alexander City, AL on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Radney Funeral Home located at 1326 Dadeville Rd, Alexander City, AL 35010. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm followed by a 2:00 pm graveside service at Hillview Memorial Park Cemetery, Reverend John Hill will officiate. Pall bearers serving in Alexander City are: Hunter Vanderlinde, Charles Vanderlinde, Jacob Mahan, Elliot Mahan, Wesley Copeland, and Wilson Copeland.
