Mr. Braxton "Jig" Thornton's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Braxton "Jig" Thornton, 67, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Thornton passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Adams Health and Rehab. He was born on July 26, 1953 in Alexander City, Alabama to Robert Thornton and Inez Moncrief. Mr. Thornton loved his family and friends dearly and was affectionally known as “Jig”. He was a member of Promise Land Church. Mr. Thornton enjoyed playing the harmonica, showing everyone his YO-YO tricks, and watching wrestling. He also was known as the “President” of Adams Health and Rehab and loved talking with all visitors.
He is survived by his sister, Sarah Thornton; brothers, James Thornton and Bubba Thornton; sisters in law, Diana Thornton and Minnie Thornton; a host of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Inez Thomas; father, Robert Thornton; and brothers, John Thornton, Kenneth Thornton, and Bill Wayne Thornton.
