Bobby's journey began as a student at Auburn University, where he not only acquired a BS in Special Education but also met the love of his life. His educational background laid the foundation for a career marked by compassion and service. He dedicated himself to the Special Olympics as a coach and taught with a heart full of patience and understanding. His love for sports led him to become the first high school soccer coach at Benjamin Russell and a school bus driver who would ensure his students' safe passage.
Beyond the classroom, Bobby served as the President of the local retired teachers association, where his leadership and vision were instrumental in advocating for the welfare and recognition of his peers. His commitment to nurturing young minds and bodies was evident in his involvement as a coach and referee for the youth soccer program and as a director of youth golf tournaments at Lake Winds Golf Course.
Bobby's interests reflected his joyous spirit and his zest for life. Whether he was golfing, fishing, or attending Comer Memorial Baptist Church, he did so with an infectious enthusiasm that drew people to him. Those who knew Bobby would describe him as a loving, faith-filled, and selfless man. He embodied the spirit of these words, and his actions were a testament to his character. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched-they must be felt with the heart."
