Mr. Bobby "Wayne" Price's Obituary
A Memorial Service for Mr. Bobby "Wayne" Price, 67, of Alexander City, will be at a later date.
Bobby Wayne Price, known to many simply as Wayne, was born on May 19, 1958, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, to Mattie Faye Blankenship Cotney, and he passed away on May 13, 2026, in Alexander City, Alabama, leaving behind a life that reflected kindness, courage, and a steady love for the people and places that shaped him.
Wayne lived with a spirit that was easy to recognize and even easier to appreciate. He was friendly, adventurous, and loving, and those qualities were not just words used to describe him. They were the way he moved through the world. He had a warm presence that made others feel welcome, and he carried himself with a quiet strength that could encourage anyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He understood that life is not measured only by the years we are given, but by the heart we bring to each day, and he lived in a way that reminded others to do the same.
He found joy in the simple and meaningful things that make life rich. Wayne loved watching Alabama sports, especially Alabama Football, and he followed his team with the kind of loyalty that comes from the heart. He also loved to ride in the country, taking in the beauty of the roads, the open spaces, and the peace that comes with a slower pace. Those moments reflected who he was. He appreciated the journey, he valued the view, and he knew how to find contentment in the world around him.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Price of Alexander City, Alabama, who shared in his life and walked beside him through the seasons of their journey together. He is also survived by his son, Justin W. Price and his wife, Tamie, who carry forward his legacy with love and remembrance. His surviving family also includes his aunts, Nancy Price, Joyce Daniels, and Eula Mae Tate, his friends, Tommy Peters and Shelia and DeWayne Sasser and Alanna, his brother-in-law, Robert Lynn Colley and Donna, and his sister-in-law, Donna Kay Machen, and numerous nieces and nephews. Each of these relationships was part of the rich and meaningful life he built, and each one will continue to hold his memory close.
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Faye Cotney, his father, Bobby Gene Price, his sister, Linda Sue Dean, his father and mother-in-law, Robert Colley and Julia Colley, his grandparents, and his friend, Ronnie Thomas. Their memories were part of his story, and now he is reunited with them in eternal peace.
Today, as we remember Bobby Wayne Price, we celebrate more than a date of birth and a date of passing. We celebrate a man who lived with heart, who valued family and friendship, and who reminded others that life is meant to be lived with love, purpose, and gratitude. His life encourages us to be kinder, to love more openly, to appreciate the road beneath our feet, and to keep faith at the center of our journey.
Though his earthly journey has ended, the impact of Wayne’s life remains. His friendly nature, his adventurous spirit, and his loving heart will continue to echo in the lives of those who knew him. The best way to honor him is to carry forward the example he set, to live with sincerity, to cherish our loved ones, and to meet each day with the same steady spirit he showed so well. Bobby Wayne Price will be remembered with love, respect, and gratitude, and his memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
