Bobby W. Curlee, a devoted servant of God and a pillar of his community, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born to Clarence L Curlee and Dollie Mae Curlee, he was a beacon of faith and joy to all who knew him. Bobby's life was a testament to his unwavering belief, his spirited nature, and his loving heart.
Bobby's academic journey led him to Tennessee Temple University, where he laid the foundation for a life of service. His dedication to his faith was evident in his lifelong commitment to pastoring. For over 30 years, he shepherded several congregations throughout Alabama, touching countless lives with his wisdom and compassion.
Beyond his pastoral duties, Bobby found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman, often found by the lakeside at dawn, reveling in the tranquility of nature. Campfires illuminated the stories he shared, casting a warm glow on the faces of friends and family. He loved family game nights and was very competitive.
Bobby's talents extended to the culinary arts as well. He had a particular knack for baking cakes that were as delightful to the palate as they were to the eye. Grilling was not just a way to prepare food for Bobby; it was an opportunity to gather his family and express his love through flavorsome meals.
Above all, Bobby was a man who put God first. He witnessed to everyone he met, sharing his faith with a gentle fervor that was as inspiring as it was steadfast. His spirit was a guiding light that led many to a deeper understanding of their own beliefs.
He is survived by his loving wife, Katrenia Curlee of Jacksons Gap, AL, who stood by him through every chapter of their lives together. His legacy lives on through his daughter, Misty C. Nelson, and son, Kenney (Angela) Curlee. His grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Chambers and Mallory (Benjamin) Stroud, will carry forward the lessons of kindness and love he instilled in them. Bobby was also blessed to know his great-grandchildren, Braiylin Stroud, Bradley Chambers, Bentley Chambers, Brayden Chambers, and Kinsley Chambers, who brought him immeasurable joy.
Bobby's life was enriched by the bonds he shared with his siblings, Lois Brown, Shirley Saffold, and Clarence Junior Curlee, who will miss him dearly. The family finds comfort in the knowledge that he is now reunited with his late father, Clarence L Curlee, his mother, Dollie Mae Curlee, and his son-in-law, Barry Allen Nelson, who preceded him in death.
Bobby W. Curlee will be remembered as a man of great faith and boundless love. His spirit and teachings will continue to influence those who were fortunate enough to have known him. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life he led and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of so many.
