With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Bobbie Harrison. A faithful wife, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend peacefully entered eternal rest into the arms of her Savior on September 3rd surrounded by her loving family. She was a shining example of love, grace and unwavering faith and her life was a testament to the beauty of selflessness. Bobbie worked for Alex City School system as a paraprofessional for 25 years. Bobbie was the heart of her family - a woman whose joy was found not in material things, but in the simple sacred moments; a warm kitchen filled with the smells of home cooked meals, the sounds of waves crashing on the shore, the quiet strength of prayer whispered at night. She loved deeply and gave freely, always placing the needs of others before her own.
Her cooking brought the family together, not just to share meals, but to share life. Every dish she made carried a piece of her heart-comforting, nourishing, and made with love. Her kitchen was a place of welcome, laughter, and healing. Above all, Bobbie was a woman of deep and abiding faith. Her love for God shaped every aspect of her life, from the way she cared for others to the way she faced each day with hope and humility. Her prayers were powerful, her faith unshakable, and her spirit full of grace.
She leaves a legacy of love, kindness and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She leaves behind her devoted husband O.C., who was her partner in love and life for fifty-eight beautiful years. She is deeply missed by her children, Heath Harrison (Pam), Hayley Pruitt (Jason), Martha Speaks (Benny) who Bobbie and O.C. raised as their own, they were the joy of her life and the heart of her purpose. Her legacy of love lives on in her grandchildren and great grandchildren who affectionately knew her as “Nanny”; Ryan Speak (Kaitie), Hunter Speaks (Haley), Joel Cheatwood (Sophia), Savanna Cheatwood and Shelby Harrison. Great Grandchildren, Norah Faye Speaks, Waylon Speaks, Cooper Cheatwood, Willow Speaks and Cameron Cheatwood. A wonderful sister to Charlie Sandlin (John), Ann Graham, Bud Hope (Pandy), Wanda Ingram (Chris) and many cherished nieces and nephews who will remember Aunt Bobbie’s warmth, guidance, and love.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that donations be made to Mt Zion Baptist Church, 6577 AL-63 Alexander City, Al 35010, in honor of Bobbie Harrison. The family would like to give special thanks to Bobbie’s hospice nurse Leigh Ann Stroud with Ivy Creek Hospice.
