Bill, a cherished patriarch and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born with a heart of gold, Bill's generosity and kindness touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A devout Christian, his faith was the compass that guided him through life.
Bill dedicated 35 years to the Russell Corporation, where his work ethic and good nature was well regarded by colleagues. His commitment to his work was only surpassed by his devotion to his family and to the Lord.
He found great comfort and strength in his faith, actively participating in Sixth Street Baptist Church. His love for God shone through in his every action, inspiring those around him to live with grace and compassion.
Bill loved playing cards, throwing horseshoes, and playing games with his wife and friends. Bill was also known for his ability to fix anything and willingness to help anyone. He spent many hours teaching his sons life lessons and skills.
Friendly, faith-filled, and handy, Bill never met a stranger. His open heart and willingness to help others made him a beloved figure in his community. He loved visiting with friends, sharing stories and traveling.
Bill's legacy is carried on by his loving family. He is survived by his sons, Steven Jon (Sherri) Love of Kellyton, AL, and Christopher Dale (Stacy E) Love of Hoover, AL. He was a proud grandfather to Tina M (Fred) Neighbors, Amy Love (Randy) Carlton, Jennifer Gipson (Jared) King, Steven Lee (Shrmyn) Love, and Noah Taylor Love. His joy multiplied with the addition of his great-grandchildren, Will and Caroline Neighbors, Riley and Dakota Carlton, Jaxon and Jordan King, and Haley, Sawyer, and Scarlet Love. His sister, Maylon (Edsel) Mullins, and son-in-law, Johnny Gipson, also survive him.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Ann Love, his daughter, Laura L. Gipson, and his siblings, Eugene Love, Agnes Moseley, Wennie Dell Havens, Keturah Brown, Nealger Lou Cowart, and Doverd Love. His parents, Early L Love and Nora Robinson Love, welcomed him into the world and were the first to greet him on his heavenly journey.
Bill lived a life that exemplified the beauty of simplicity, the strength of faith, and the joy of companionship. His memory will be treasured and his presence sorely missed. As we bid farewell to a man who was the embodiment of love and friendship, we take solace in the knowledge that he is home with family and the Lord.
