Mr. Billie Vickers' Obituary
Graveside Service for Mr. Billie Vickers, 89, of Goodwater, will be Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Old Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Wesley Higginbotham and Rev. Clinton Branch will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Vickers passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at his residence. He was born on October 30, 1933 in Opp, Alabama to Arthur A. Vickers, Sr. and Lois Ruby Patterson Vickers. He was a longtime and active member of Old Providence Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and enjoyed reading his Bible daily. He retired from Russell Corporation after 40 years of faithful and dedicated service. Mr. Vickers was a wonderful artist and enjoyed his cows, chickens, cats and other pets. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting, woodworking, bowling and watching the Atlanta Braves. Above all, he loved his family more than anything and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his son, Clinton A. Vickers of Goodwater; daughter, Cathy Smith (Kevin) of Goodwater; sister, Betty Frances Osborn of Goodwater; sister-in-law, Connie Osborn; nephew, Philip Osborn, great nieces and nephew, Katie Osborn, Kristin Kathleen Chamberlin (Mark) and Tracy Andrews (Kirk) and Brian Howell; other nieces and nephews, Glenda Howell, Louann LeMaster, Ann Welch, Patty Voss (Danny), Melinda Jordan (Phillip), Cheryl Thompson (Jerry), Elaine Sanders, Bruce Osborn, Brenda Coley (Temple), Teresa Bishop (Howard), Michael Lynn Bowen (Greta), Susan Taylor (Johnny), Stanley Brazzell, Jack Vickers, Brian Bowen, Billy Bruce Vickers (Suzette), Betty Jo Dudney and Bobby Peters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine Vickers; brothers, Beamon Vickers, Arthur Vickers, Jr. and Heflin Vickers; sisters, Nathalie Adair and Beatrice Peters; nephew, Carl Adair and Tim Stansell (Cecelia); and nieces, Genelle Peters and Michelle Osborn; sisters-in-law, Jackie Brazzell and Betty Stansell.
