Graveside Service for Mrs. Betty Barnett Lashley, 87, of Alexander City, will be Friday, November 17, 2023 at 2:30 pm at the Parkdale Methodist Church Cemetery. Pastor Dick Stark will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Betty Lashley passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 14, 1936 in Goodwater, Alabama to William Penton Ashworth and Alice Loraine "Lula" Price Ashworth. She loved the Lord and faithfully attended Faith Temple. Betty enjoyed taking trips to many places including the beach and mountains. She enjoyed flowers, going to concerts, listening to country music, and playing with her beloved pets, Sadie & Sonny. Betty was devoted to working hard, serving the Lord, and giving her love to her family and friends. Affectionately known as "Mama Betty," she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Kelly Sherrer; grandson, Adam Lang Sherrer; sisters, Mary Ida (Herman) Robertson, and Carol Sue Leopard; and sister-in-law, Ginny Ashworth.
She is preceded in death by her son, Richard "Ricky" Marlin Barnett; parents, William and "Lula" Ashworth; and brother, Billy Wayne Ashworth.
