Mrs. Bettie Frances Jones Vickers' Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Bettie Frances Jones Vickers, 81, of Daviston, Alabama, will be Monday, May 10, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Daviston Baptist Church. Rev. Bennie Lee Yates and Rev. Phillip Green will officiate. Burial will follow in the Daviston Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 9, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Vickers passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021. She was born on February 13, 1940 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to William Randolph Jones and Martha Eugenia Germany Jones. Mrs. Vickers loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an active member of Daviston Baptist Church. Mrs. Vickers retired from Aliant Bank after 39 years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Professional Women’s Club and the Daviston Senior Club. Mrs. Vickers loved others and always had a helping hand for anyone that needed it. She also enjoyed reading and cheering for her beloved Auburn Tigers Football Team.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Vickers Darnell of Florence, Alabama; son, Rickey Wayne Vickers (Elaine) of Brookwood, Alabama; Grandchildren, Kristin Vickers Price (Lance), Jacob Vickers (Stormie), Callie Vickers, Katelyn Darnell Scott (Ryan), and Jesse Darnell; great-grandchildren, Gabby Vickers, Sami Price, and Annaliese Price; and sisters, Peggy Moncus (Steve) and JoAnn Ballard (Lester).
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Melvin Wayne Vickers; son in law, Jeff Darnell; parents; sisters, Wilma Routh, Hilda Blanks, Reatha Nance, Dorothy Harry, Eugenia Cowhick, Marie Jones, and Helen Harper; and brother, Ray Jones.
