Mrs. Aulene Scott's Obituary
Funeral service for Mrs. Aulene Scott, 94, of Alexander City, will be Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Randy Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home. \r\n\r\nMrs. Scott passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on January 12, 1918 in Clay County, Alabama to Henry Pierce "Bud" Gilbert and Evie Lena Parks Gilbert. She was a member of New Elkahatchee Baptist Church. Mrs. Scott loved dancing, flowers, and gardening, especially her tomato plants. She was also involved in her senior citizen group and was a member of the Eastern Star.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her daughter-in-law, Juanita Sumners of Alexander City; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-great-grandchildren; niece and caregiver, Johnnie Allen of Alexander City; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, "Ted" Gilbert of Hackneyville.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Scott; son, Earl C. Sumners; sisters, Gladys Tankersley, Athol Mann, and Dorothy Hodges; and brothers, Donald Gilbert, Wayne Gilbert, Lloyd Gilbert, and Robert Melton Gilbert.\r\n\r\nThe family requests no flowers but memorial contributions be given to Children's Harbor, 1 Our Children's Hwy, Alexander City, AL 35010; New Elkahatchee Baptist Church, 3380 Elkahatchee Rd, Alexander City, AL, 35010; or Trinity United Methodist Church, 3266 Hwy 280, Alexander City, AL 35010.\r\n
