Aquilla Gilliland's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mrs. Aquilla Gilliland, 96, of Alexander City, will be Friday, February 14, 2025, at 1:30 pm at the Hillview Memorial Park. Rev. Mike Densmore will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gilliland passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at her residence. She was born on May 7, 1928, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Homer Talmadge East and Grace Frelon Day East. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Thomas T. (Jennifer) Gilliland; sister, Lorez Durden; other family, Matthew Kennedy, Chris (Dilanda) Kennedy, Meri (Josh) Wildman, Olivia Bondurant, Archer Cashion and caregiver, Pamela Stowes.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Tom Gilliland; parents; sisters, Vivian Jackson, Fannie Bell Benton, Dallam Rose Gunn, Mildred Vickers, Gertie Jackson; brothers, Rayford, Vann, Quinton, Carlton, Floyd, and Edward East.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Alexander City Meals on Wheels, 3316 Highway 280, Alexander City, AL, 35010.
