Sharon Patterson, a spirited and joyous presence, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Her laughter and thoughtful nature were a beacon of light to all who knew her. Sharon's journey began in Alexander City, AL, where she was a cherished member of the Patterson family.
A graduate of Benjamin Russell High School, Sharon carried the pride of her alma mater throughout her life. She dedicated many years of service as a secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church, where her faith and commitment shone brightly. Sharon also worked closely with Dr. Waddell, where her efficiency and warm demeanor made her an invaluable asset.
Sharon was extremely close to her mother and cared for her as she grew older. They had a bond that even death could not sever. Sharon was a woman of many passions, with a particular love for country music that provided a soundtrack to many fond memories. She found comfort and joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as watching episodes of the Andy Griffith Show and engaging in long, heartfelt conversations on the phone with her friends. Her sense of humor was infectious, and she had a unique ability to uplift everyone around her.
Described by those who loved her as funny, Sharon enjoyed calling the Front Porch television show on a daily basis and sharing with them her corny joke of the day. Sharon was thoughtful, and faith-filled, Sharon lived her life with a kindness that touched the hearts of many. She was a source of wisdom and laughter, always ready with a joke or a word of encouragement.
Sharon's memory will be cherished and kept alive by her devoted family. She is survived by her brother, Wayne Homer Patterson of Alexander City, AL; sisters, Carolyn Jean Barrett and Martha Jane (Gary) Berryhill; Sister-in-law, Tommie Sue Patterson; nephews, Roy Shane (Mona) Patterson, Anthony Wayne (Paige) Patterson, Glenn Patterson, and Stacy Ray (Staci) Patterson; nieces, Selina Dawn Patterson, Kim (Mark) Stirewalt, Andra Maulding, Lynn (Gary) Downey, and Tanya (Mark) Kelly. Sharon's spirit will also live on through the stories and memories shared by her extended family and numerous friends.
She now joins in eternal rest her father, James Homer Patterson; mother, Annie Pearl Patterson; and her brother, James Byron Patterson, who preceded her in death. They are undoubtedly welcoming her with open arms and rejoicing in their heavenly reunion.
The world was undoubtedly brighter with Sharon in it, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Yet, we take solace in the fact that her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire and guide us. Sharon Patterson's story is not one of sorrow but a celebration of a life beautifully lived and a soul that will forever enrich the tapestry of our memories.
