The angels came down and took our beloved Anna Faye Spraggins, known to all as Faye, to her heavenly home on November 19, 2023. Born on October 16, 1927, in Daviston, Alabama, Faye lived a long and blessed life filled with love, faith, and family. She was called home from Auburn, Alabama, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to her family and her faith.
Faye was a woman of strength and character, a loving mother, a doting grandmother, a proud great-grandmother, and even a great-great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Carol Jean Coggin (Mike) of Auburn, AL, Brenda Cheryl Winslett (Bo) of Auburn, AL, Donna Faye Garrett of Sylacauga, AL, and Benjamin Joseph Spraggins (Judy) of Gulfport, MS. Her grandchildren, Mike Coggin, Jr. (Jennifer), Tina Johns (Johnny), Brandi Rose (Scott), Wendy Ferguson (Bryan), Scott Garrett (Debbie), Craig Spraggins (Julie), and Brian Winslett (Carrie); great-grandchildren, Kennedy Coggin, Campbell Coggin, Matthew Rose, Lauren Rose, Drew Ferguson (Alex), Katie Ward (Collin), Zach Ferguson (Averi), Anna Claire Ferguson, William Winslett, Tucker Garrett, Patrick Garrett, Tate Spraggins, Hayden Spraggins, and Olivia Spraggins; great great grandchildren, Brooks Ward, Lane Ferguson, Harper Faye Ward, and Banks Ferguson; brother-in-law, Gerald Spraggins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Barrett Taylor and Leola Taylor, her beloved husband, Donald Grady Spraggins; son-in-law, Les Garrett; her siblings, John Will Taylor, Herbert Taylor, Irene Pemberton, Pauline Patten, and Eunice Blair.; her mother-in-law, Ludie Benton Spraggins; and father-in-law, Joseph Grady Spraggins. Their reunions in Heaven are surely joyful occasions, filled with love and peace.
Faye was a dedicated worker, spending 35 fruitful years at Russell Corporation as a folder, inspector, and packer. Her dedication to her work was a testament to her character - steadfast, committed, and diligent. Her work ethic was a shining example for all who knew her, and her contributions to her community through her work were immeasurable.
Beyond her work, Faye's life was centered around her family and her faith. Her children were her world, and she loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren with all her heart. Her love for them was boundless, as deep as the ocean and as high as the sky. Faye's gentle spirit shone through in her love of simple pleasures - playing dominos, reading her Bible, and keeping up with current events through Fox News. Her faith was the bedrock of her life, guiding her actions and shaping her into the loving, gentle, and faith-filled woman that she was.
Faye's life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of faith, and the importance of family. Her memory will be a beacon of hope, a reminder of the power of faith, and a testament to the enduring quality of love. As we remember Faye, let us celebrate her life, honor her memory, and strive to live with the same love, gentleness, and faith that she exemplified. Even in our sorrow, let us find comfort in the knowledge that Faye is now at peace, cradled in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, reunited with her loved ones, and watching over us all.
In the words of the Good Book that Faye held so dear, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant...enter thou into the joy of thy Lord" (Matthew 25:21). Rest in peace, our sweet Faye. You will forever be in our hearts.
