Mrs. Ann Sasser Slay's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Ann Sasser Slay, 81, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 3:30 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Hicks will officiate. Burial will follow in the Craft-Sasser Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Slay passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at East Alabama Medical Center. She was born on June 26, 1940 in Alexander City, Alabama to Seth McKinley (S.M.) Sasser and Cellia Mae Sasser. She was an active member of Sunny Level United Methodist Church and was the Church Pianist for many years. She was an excellent cook and baker, enjoyed catering and flower arranging. Mrs. Slay was the long-time bookkeeper at Holley’s Home Furnishings, was the secretary at the Tallapoosa County Sheriff's Office, and had served as the town clerk of Dadeville. She enjoyed crafts and handiwork and selling at flea markets around the area.
She is survived by her daughter, Crystal S. Blue (Chris) of Alexander City; grandchildren, Laura Kate Blue and Mitchell Andrew Blue (Ashton); and adopted daughter, Dorothy Hawkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Fred Byers Slay.
