Mrs. Anita Osborn Padgett's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mrs. Anita Osborn Padgett, 83, of Alexander City, will be Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 12:00 pm at the Hillview Memorial Park. Rev. Will Baker will officiate.
Anita Osborn Padgett, a cherished and vibrant soul, departed this life surrounded by love and family. Born into the heart of the Mellow Valley community, Anita's life was a testament to the joy of simplicity and the richness of a life well-lived.
Her career with the Russell Corporation for over 25 years will be remembered as one filled with hard work and dedication.
With a spirit that was both friendly and adventurous, Anita embraced life with open arms. Her love for the outdoors was evident in the meticulous care she took in planting flowers. Anita enjoyed the camaraderie and laughter that came with playing dominos with her friends. Her zest for life extended to shopping and socializing, where she was always a loving presence in the lives of those she met.
Anita's legacy is carried on by her loving family. She is survived by her children, Melanie (Mike) Coger of Alexander City, AL, Joel (Donna) Padgett of Dadeville, AL, and John Mark (Celeste) Padgett of Sylacauga, AL. She was a proud grandmother to Alison (Travis) Creel, Josh (Molly) Coger, Andrew (Kaitlin) Padgett, Chris Coger, and Estela Padgett. The joy of her life continued to multiply with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Brody, Carson, and Hardy Creel. Anita's brother, Merrill "Mutt" Osborn, also remains to honor her memory.
Anita was reunited in eternal peace with her late father, Joe Ellis Osborn, mother, Agnes Osborn, beloved husband, Jimmy Ralph Padgett, sister, Marie McLain, and brother, John Milford "Pete" Osborn. The love and lessons they shared remain a guiding force in the lives of those who knew them.
As we celebrate her journey, we take solace in the knowledge that her spirit will continue to inspire us. Anita's story does not end here; it lives on in the hearts of those she loved and the countless lives she brightened. May we honor her legacy by embracing life with the same passion and kindness she demonstrated every day.
The family will accept flowers, or memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
