Mr. Alfred Eugene Mahan's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mr. Alfred Eugene Mahan, 73, of Alexander City, will be Friday, May 16, 2025 at 3:00 pm at the Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Will Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Mahan passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, at the age of 73. Born on March 29, 1952, in Alexander City, Eugene lived a life marked by his boundless passion for building, an exemplary work ethic, and an innate sense of kindness that touched all who knew him.
Eugene's profound love for singing resonated in the joy he brought to everyday moments. A man who never saw a stranger, he greeted everyone with the same warmth and generosity of spirit. Those who knew Eugene were familiar with his unwavering willingness to extend a helping hand to anyone in need, truly embodying the role of a selfless caretaker.
Above all, Eugene adored his grandchildren, cherishing every opportunity to spend time with them and impart memories that will continue to be treasured. His legacy lives on in the lives of those he loved and the community he helped build and uplift.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Mahan of Alexander City; daughter, Alice Mahan (Jon) Owens of Alexander City; grandchildren, Luke Owens, Audrey Owens, and Jake Owens; sister, Angelyn (Greg) Mullins; and brother-in-law, Johnny (Polly) Caldwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, David Mahan.
