Miss Alene Hawkins' Obituary
Funeral service for Miss Alene Hawkins, 95, of Montgomery and formerly of Goodwater, will be Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 3:30 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Goodwater City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 3, 2010 from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home. \r\n\r\nMiss Hawkins passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010 at Jackson Hospital. She was born on October 3, 1914 in Goodwater, Alabama to Cleo Glen Hawkins, Sr. and Zilla Irene Ogburn Hawkins. She was a member of Goodwater United Methodist Church, Goodwater Garden Club and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She attended Jacksonville State University and enjoyed a career as a postal clerk for the post office for about 38 years. For 23 months she enjoyed living at Wesley Gardens in Montgomery, meeting new friends, participating in their activities, trips and programs at Frazer United Methodist Church. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by her sister-in-law, Julianne T. Hawkins of Foley; nieces and nephews, Leigh Hawkins of Foley; Bobby Hawkins of Foley, Jan (Kenny) Pirkle of Dallas, TX, Glenda H. (Ed) Sprayberry of Hoover, David (Holly) Hawkins of Kellyton and Nancy (Sam) Lett of Montgomery; great-nieces and nephews, Stacy (Alisa) Sprayberry of Wilsonville, Sally Sprayberry of Birmingham, Samuel Lett, Jr. of Montgomery, Kennedy Hawkins of Atlanta, GA and Jared (Jane) Hawkins of Kellyton; and great-great-niece, Hannah Sprayberry of Wilsonville.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Cleo Glen Hawkins, Jr. and Robert Lee Hawkins; sister-in-law, Margaret T.
