Mrs. Jones passed away on April 4, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and love that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Born on November 7, 1934, in Tallapoosa County to John Archie Queen and Ethel McCain Queen, Marie lived a life marked by perseverance, humility, and unwavering dedication to her family. She was a woman who understood the value of hard work and carried that spirit with her throughout her life. Her strong character and steady presence were a source of comfort and inspiration to those around her, and she faced life’s many seasons with courage and grace.
Marie retired from Russell Mills after years of faithful service. She took pride in her work and was known as someone who could always be counted on to give her best. Her work ethic reflected the same determination that guided every part of her life. She was a very hard worker, and that quality remained one of her defining traits from her younger years through her later life.
Above all else, Marie was devoted to her family. She was a loving mother to her eight children, and she embraced that role with tenderness, patience, and steadfast care. Her children were blessed by her guidance, her wisdom, and her unconditional love. She was also a doting grandmother to her many grandchildren, and she found great joy in the time she spent with them. Her family will remember her as a source of encouragement, warmth, and strength, and her influence will continue to live on through the generations she helped shape.
Marie also had a deep love for animals, and she found happiness in their companionship. She enjoyed spending time in her yard, where she tended to her flowers and took pride in the beauty she helped create. These quiet moments reflected her appreciation for simple pleasures and the peaceful rhythms of home. Her yard was a place where she could work with her hands, enjoy the outdoors, and find contentment in the life she built.
Those who knew Marie will remember her as a very strong woman whose presence left a lasting impression. She carried herself with dignity and resilience, and she met the challenges of life with a spirit that never wavered. Her life was a testament to faithfulness, love, and determination, and her memory will remain a treasured part of the lives she touched.
Marie is survived by her loving family and by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a blessing, and her memory will be held close in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Though she will be deeply missed, the example she set and the love she gave will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she leaves behind.
