Miles was one of the finest Christian gentlemen I have ever known. He and Willie were very special friends. Miles was chairman of the pastor search committee when Sixth Street Baptist called me as pastor in 1979. He was a friend, encourager, and counselor to a young pastor and I have never forgotten his love and care. My prayers are for all his children. May the peace of God, which Miles knew well, be with you in this time of grief.

I grew up around Mr. and Mrs.Ward with their family. They were both very good family oriented people. I can honestly say that Mr. Ward was one of the finest men that I have ever known. He was very giving to his family, church, and friends. He was a honest hard working man. I feel honored that I had the pleasure of knowing him.If every person in the world were like him, we would have no problems. I know that he will be missed by everyone that knew him.
