Mrs. Inez Thornell Goerner's Obituary
Funeral service for Mrs. Inez Thornell Goerner, 94, of Alexander City, will be Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 2:30 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. Randy Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 1:30 pm to 2:15 pm at Radney Funeral Home. \r\n\r\nMrs. Goerner passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at her residence. She was born on November 8, 1918 in Elmore County, Alabama to Ocie Kyle Thornell and Mable E. Thornton Thornell. She was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church for over 60 years. She was a member of the Ann Philips Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, Federated Garden Clubs, V.A. Medical Auxiliary, Bridge Clubs and other study groups. She attended the Elmore County High School and the University of Alabama. Mrs. Goerner and her husband, Dr. Paul George Goerner, enjoyed traveling all over the World. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by her nephew, Randall Thornell (Judy) of Jacksons Gap; brother, William Olney Thornell of Alexander City; 4 great nieces; 2 great nephews; 9 great-great nieces and nephews; niece-in-laws, Carol Thornell and Brenda Thornell both of Alexander City and special cousin, Joan Graham (James) of Montgomery.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Paul George Goerner; her parents and nephews, Freddy Thornell and Don Thornell.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to one’s favorite charity.\r\nThe family would also like to extend a special thanks to her numerous sitters.\r\n \r\nMemorial messages may be sent to the family at http://www.radneyfuneralhome.com.\r\n\r\n
