Susan was such a strong godly woman with a heart of gold; she was a beautiful example of Christ. She loved and shared whatever she had with anyone who was in need and she prayed brokenly for those whose needs she couldn't meet because she knew The Savior Who could. I first met Susan in 1988 and we became immediate and life-long "we-choose-each-other-as-sister" friends in a work of hearts as only The Good Lord God Almighty can do. Susan was, is, and will always remain the sister I loved the most. We laughed together, cried together, prayed together, and stayed together as sisters. We disagreed, disappointed, discussed, and delighted in each other's lives. We understood one another, told each other the hard things that no one else dared, and we forgave each other our weaknesses and failings. We rejoiced and we celebrated in the victories of either of us. We had history. And because of that, we encouraged each other that we could move and grow beyond whatever heartache we were facing at the moment. We told each other, 'No' when the other one needed to hear it and "Yes, PRAISE THE LORD!' when we had made it back from the brink of disaster or a season of despair. Susan was/is truly my soul sister. For all the years that I have known her, Susan put the needs of others above the needs of her own and she lived that way until the very end. She lived what she believed and she loved Jesus above all; she didn't just "talk" it, she walked it. And I was blessed by The Lord to get to walk it with her for a time. Dearest Susan, you remain the sister of my soul, heart, & spirit and while I miss you like crazy already, ... I'll see you later, girl!
