April 10, 1928 - November 23, 2020
Graveside Service for Mrs. Pauline Saffold Prophitt, 92, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Liberty Holiness Church Cemetery with Pastor Stacy Tuttle officiating. On Monday November 23, 2020 our loving mother Pauline Prophitt at age 92 peacefully entered her heavenly home. Eunice Pauline Saffold Prophitt was born on April 10, 1928 in Sylacauga, Alabama to Marion & Emma Saffold the youngest of 10 children. On June 13, 1945 she married Willie Albert Prophitt and together they raised 5 sons, Stanley, Wallace, Arlen, Jerome, and Wendell. Pauline was an amazing wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family, and had a passion for her Lord and his church. Pauline was a charter member of the Alexander City Church of God of Prophecy now LifePoint Church. She quilted with the ladies, worked to raise funds for missions, and loved all she came in contact with. Her boys grew up playing outside with all kinds of adventures, and wonderful memories, but most of all she taught them about the love of Jesus and that they must surrender their hearts to Him. She was a loving, and kind woman who cared deeply, loved richly, gave sacrificially, and cherished her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren affectionately referred to her as "Granny". She was known by her beautiful, kind and sweet spirit; she was a reflection of the scripture in Proverbs 31:25-28 “Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the way of her household and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” Pauline was known for many of her little sayings like, “I built a cake or a dress today" or when asked, how are you doing she would reply “I’m just bogeying around", or her excited statement might be "Yeah boy or Oh boy". All who knew her well will be warmed by the remembrance of her fun sayings. Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Prophitt; son, Arlen Prophitt and 2 newborns Charles Prophitt and Timothy Prophitt; great-grandchild, Elijah Prophitt; daughter-in-law, Janet Prophitt; and all of her siblings. Pauline is survived by her sons, Stanley Prophitt, Wallace Prophitt (Dona), Jerome Prophitt and Wendell Prophitt (Debra); daughter-in-law, Rita Prophitt Taylor; grandchildren, Kaci Sayers (Joshua), Chad Prophitt, Amanda Prophitt, Michael Prophitt (Kimberley), Kelli Prophitt, Johnathan Prophitt (Chere), Gina Prophitt and Nathan Prophitt (Jessica); 9 great grandchildren; and host of nieces and nephews. The last several months mom would say "I want to go home" so today please Celebrate her home, Celebrate her there, Celebrate her in that land of wonder where nothing can compare, Celebrate her in that place, Celebrate her saved grace. CELEBRATE HER HOME! Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be given to LifePoint Church, 122 Poplar Road, Alexander City, AL 35010.
