Mrs. Nellie Ruth Boulware

Funeral Service for Mrs. Nellie Ruth Whitmore Boulware, 82, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Ronnie Boulware, Rev. Larry Cummings, and Rev. Wayne Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home. Mrs. Boulware passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at her residence. She was born on February 10, 1940, in Heflin, Alabama to Earnest Odell Whitmore and Evelyn Mitchum Whitmore. She was an active member of New Elkahatchee Baptist Church since 1974 and was a faithful servant of her Lord. She was a loving, self-less mother and grandmother that always put the needs of her family first. She was an excellent cook and loved feeding her family and friends. Her life’s work was a homemaker, but she had worked as a customer service manager at Roses and Walmart. Mrs. Nellie was a talented seamstress and was an excellent doll maker. She is survived by her son, Ronnie Boulware (Kim) of Alexander City; daughter, Renea Boulware Johnson (Tim) of Alexander City; grandchildren, Krystal Boulware Cummings (Brian) of Alexander City, Ashley Boulware Frew (Peyton) of Alexander City, Alex Boulware of Alexander City, Tyler Lashley (Shannon) of Alexander City, Emily Boulware Mask (Joe) of Wadley, Karli Boulware of Detroit, MI, Brady Lashley (Mellenia) of Alexander City, Carder Lashley of Alexander City, Amanda Johnson Wallace (Brett) of Prattville, and Aimee Johnson Schwartz (Austin) of Aiken, SC; great-grandchildren, Clark Cummings, Maggie Cummings, Lance Frew, Garrett Mask, Wilton Lashley, Riley Lashley, Eleanor Lashley, Anna Claire Askew, Abigail Parish, Dixon Wallace; sister, Patricia Williams (Darnell) of Ashland; sisters-in-law, Sandra Smith (Wayne) of Clanton, Wanda Meadors (Jimmy) of Dadeville, and Leanne Hammonds (Wayne) of Tallassee. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, Roscoe Wilton Boulware; and son, Kenneth Wade Boulware. The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to New Elkahatchee Baptist Church, 3380 Elkahatchee Road, Alexander City, AL 35010.
