Mr. Melbourne Allen "Mel" Dymond

Melbourne “Mel” Allen Dymond passed away on April 19, 2021 at the age of 76. Mel was a 20-year retiree from the United States Air Force, serving from 1962-1984 during the Vietnam War and a 30-year IT Specialist with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Mel graduated from Folsom High School and completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees while serving in the Air Force. Mel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was also a coach, mentor, and friend to many. In his professional life, Mel was well known and respected by entry level and executives, alike. Everyone loved his infectious laugh and his often-colorful language. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Dymond of Douglasville, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Lee and Holly Dymond of Hoover, AL, and Kenneth and Kapono Dymond of Douglasville, GA; granddaughters, Caroline and Anna Dymond of Hoover, AL, and Alyssa Dymond of Douglasville, GA; grandsons, Mark-Allen and Drew Dymond of Douglasville, GA; great-grandson, Kamari Carter of Douglasville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Robert Emerson of Beavercreek, OH; sister, Carol Farthing of Abilene, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Michelle Seghetti of Buda, TX; sister-in-law, Marianne Dymond of Kailua, HI; and nephews, Lindsey and Jeffrey Dymond of Kailua, HI. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Carolyn Dymond; mother, Travilla “Trixie” Seghetti; father, Melbourne Allen Dymond, Sr.; and brother, Donald Dymond. Funeral Services will be held at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 3:00 PM CST with Dr. Lee Dymond officiating. Following services interment with Military Honors will be held at the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Radney Funeral Home from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM CST. In addition, a Memorial Service will be held in Georgia at a later date.
