Mrs. Laura Blankenship Mullins Waldrip Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Graveside Service for Mrs. Laura Blankenship Mullins Waldrip, 87, of Alexander City, will be Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Newsite Baptist Church Cemetery in Weogufka. Dr. Jeffrey Fuller and Rev. Russell Goodwin will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home. Mrs. Waldrip passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Coosa Valley Healthcare Center. She was born on February 16, 1933 in Sylacauga, Alabama to Benjamin Blankenship and Catherine McGrady Blankenship. She was an active member of Newsite Baptist Church and loved her church dearly. Mrs. Waldrip was a sweet, kind and loving lady. She loved reading her bible, working word puzzles, sewing and quilting. Most of all she loved being with her family and feeding them. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Mullins Jones (Kenneth) of Alexander City; daughter-in-law, Deborah Susan Mullins of Hanover; grandchildren, Michael Mullins (Mary Kay), Christopher Mullins (Melissa), John Warren Mullins (Katie), Buffie Self (David) and Haley Jones (Randell Branun); great-grandchildren, Tanja Olinger (Nate), Chase Mullins, Brittni Mullins, Torrie Mullins, Christian McDonald (Crystal), Taylor Self, Pressley Self, Leslie Pitts, Colton Pitts, Claire Mullins and John Warren Mullins; and great great grandchild, Catilyn Mullins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Waldrip; son, Jasper "Johnny" Dark Mullins, Jr.; and brothers, Dock Blankenship and Lowel Blankenship. Mrs. Waldrip’s grandsons and the deacons of Newsite Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
