Mr. Justin Wayne Barton

Graveside Service for Mr. Justin Wayne Barton, 75, of Rockford, will be Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 3:00 pm at the Rockford City Cemetery. Dr. Jeffrey Fuller will officiate. Mr. Barton passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at his residence. He was born on October 2, 1946 in Georgia to Jacob Benjamin Dallas Barton and Sally Linnie Martin Barton. He was a member of Rockford Baptist Church. He was a Vietnam Combat Veteran where he served as an ambulance driver in the medical corp. His life’s work was in construction and masonry. Mr. Barton could often be found at the casino working toward his big win. Mr. Barton was a man of strength and valor and was considered a “man’s man”. He was a great storyteller, a very funny person and loved to make people laugh. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kelli and Matt Frutchey of Rockford; sisters, Shirley Barton Kirby of Rockford and Patsy Barton Lamberth of Weirsdale, FL; several nieces and nephews including Jimmy Edward Guthery, Carl Lester Guthery, Jr., Linda Gail Rose, and Susie Kirby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne Barton, his parents; sisters, Frances Barton McLemore and Tolulah Hortense Guthery; and brothers, Harold Barton, George Ellis Barton, Billy Frank Barton, and Jacob Dallas Barton. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
