Funeral Service for Mrs. Jimmie Sue Carter, 88, of Auburn, Alabama, will be Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 2:30 pm at the Sardis United Methodist Church. Rev. Dan Rhodes and Bro. Tim Gordon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sardis United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Sardis United Methodist Church. Jimmie Sue passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at her residence. She was born on July 8, 1933, in Anniston, Alabama to Thomas Edward Starr and Annie Victor Smith Starr. She was an active member of Sardis United Methodist Church. She was a Godly woman with a true servant’s heart. Her passion was visiting nursing homes where she shared friendship and love with many residents and enjoyed playing the piano for them. If you knew Mom Jim, you knew her infectious personality and smile would light up any room she entered. Never having grandparents, she wanted to be the absolute best grandmother. She was passionate about the love of her family and friends and you knew I L.O.V.E. love you all the T.I.M.E. time. Mom Jim will be missed dearly by family, friends, and Madi, who laid beside her until her very last day. She is survived by her daughter, Starr Carter Miller of Auburn; sons, Alfred R. Carter Jr “Chip.” (Stella) of Auburn, Edward Michael Carter (Windy) of Dadeville; grandchildren, Richard H. Miller Jr. “Ric” (Carter Hayes), Alfred R. Carter III “Alfie” (Brittany), John Lucas Carter, Hayden Michael Carter, Hudson Thomas Carter, Landry Maria Carter; great-granddaughter, Ellie Kate Warnock; sister, Eddie Ruth Fuller; nieces, Vicki Fuller Stanaland (Randy), Leslie Fuller Boutwell (Rick); nephews, Greg Carter (Judy), Derek Williams (Sonya) and sister’s-in-law, Ann Carter and Janice Carter Williams Drake; Bestfriend, Madi; great niece, Hailey Ruth Boutwell, Brooke Boutwell Morrison (Max), Briana Williams; great nephews, Same Harrell, Will Harrell, David Carter, Daniel Carter, Brent Williams, Nick Williams, and Chris Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and “love of her life,” Alfred R. Carter “Al;” brother, Robert Samuel Starr “Sam” and son-in-law, Richard H. Miller. The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Sardis United Methodist Church General Fund, P O Box 162, Notasulga, AL, 36866. The family would like to send thanks to the amazing staff at Ivy Creek Hospice, Ashley McElrath, Dorothy Truitt, and long time friend Wanda Ponder for the wonderful love and care given to Mom Jim.
