Mr. Derwin "Doo-Doo" Brown

Funeral Service for Derwin "Doo-Doo" Brown, 47, of Silverhill, Alabama, will be Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. Barry Cordes will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ephesus Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home. Brown passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Thomas Hospital. He was born on May 18, 1974, in Alexander City, Alabama to Dewey M. Brown and Judith Ann Connell Brown. He was a deacon at Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church. Derwin was a big hearted, bright spirited, quick witted country boy with a love for the outdoors. He was happiest with a yard full of close friends/family laughing with him. He also loved being on the river and sitting by a fire. He was a master of nicknames and loved to make people laugh and doing acts of kindness when “no one was looking.” He was loved by many and will be terribly missed. He is survived by his, wife of 13 years, Tara A. Brown; dogter, Hazel Nut Brown; father, Dewey Brown; sister, Rhonda J. Simmons (Ricky); niece, Carrie J. Simmons; lifelong friends, Jason Gamble, and Phillip Whitehurst; cousins, Greg Connell, Alison Bates, Tracie Reaves and countless other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother. The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church, 4903 Highway 22 East, Alexander City, AL, 35010.
