Mr. Bobby Scott

Mr. Bobby Scott 1945 - 2021 Graveside Service for Mr. Bobby Scott, 75, of Alexander City, will be Friday, February 19, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Hillview Memorial Park. Rev. Wayne Cowhick will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home. Mr. Scott passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at his home. He was born on March 24, 1945 in Alexander City, Alabama to Carl Scott and Myrtle Elizabeth Bowen Scott. He attended Alex City Methodist Church. Bobby spent 54 years providing accounting and software services to governmental housing agencies. In 2019 he was recognized for his accomplishments by the Public Housing Directors Association. He knew his success was the result of his employees. He always took the time to thank each one of them for their service. Bobby loved his family, sons and grandsons. He looked forward to every opportunity to gather with his family. Bobby made it a point to help those in his community and was a generous supporter of many community organizations. He served as a Mason and was a member of the Elk’s Lodge. He loved playing golf, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He especially loved Lake Martin. He made friends with everyone he met and loved to laugh. He is survived by his sons, Bobby Kevin Scott and Danny Keith Scott, both of Alexander City; grandchildren, Sawyer Frederick and Jacob Carl Scott; brothers, Gene Scott (Ruth) of George Town GA, Jerry Scott (Janet) of Opelika, AL; twin sister, Robbie Van Vlake (Robert) of Calhoun, GA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family wants to extend a special thanks to his care givers, Dale Jones, Danny Queen and Tracy Lindsey. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to your local Boy Scout Unit 169, 310 Green Street, Alexander City, AL, 35010 or the American Cancer Society, P O Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123-3000. All visitations and services will be held in compliance with the mandated rules from Alabama Dept of Public Health.
