Mr. Anthony Keith Worthy

Memorial Service for Mr. Anthony Keith Worthy, 64, of Alexander City, will be Monday, October 26, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. Rev. Wayne Hicks will officiate. Mr. Worthy passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 at his shop. He was born on August 15, 1956 in Alexander City, Alabama to Winford Worthy and Maurice Cheaney Worthy. He was an active and lifelong member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was the Chair of the Trustee Board. He was a master plumber who was meticulous about his work. He enjoyed hunting, was an avid reader, and enjoyed his work. He built his shop himself, and it was known that it was the domain of the “Worthy Girls.” He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Darlene Worthy; daughter, Amy Worthy; son, Jeremy Worthy (Donette); granddaughters, Rylie Worthy, Charleigh Worthy, Blakely Worthy, and Zora Easter of Asheville, NC; mother, Maurice Worthy; sister, Dawn Worthy Brasell (Dale); brother, Kendell Worthy; and beloved son (dog), AJ Worthy. He was preceded in death by his father, Winford Worthy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church at duncanumc.org or P.O. They request that masks be worn while in and around the church and that social distancing guidelines be respected.
