Steven Ray Lindley

Steven Ray Lindley, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and a life passionately lived. Born with a heart full of joy and a talent for bringing smiles to those around him, Steven's presence was a beacon of light in the lives of many. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Hand Mann of Daviston, AL; his daughter, Stephanie M. Lindley and her life partner, Victor; his son, Nicholas S. Lindley and his wife, Heather; his beloved grandchild, Gabriella Carrol; his brothers, Archie Lindley and Albert Lindley with his wife Linda; his sister-in-law, Mary Jane Lindley; and several adoring nieces and nephews. His cherished pets, Sassy the bird and Molly the dog, will also feel the absence of his gentle care. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Audie Lee Lindley; his mother, Icye Bell Lindley; and his brothers, Autry and Larry Lindley. Steven's academic journey began at B.B. Comer High School, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. He furthered his education by attending Auburn University, a testament to his lifelong love for learning and his unwavering support for Auburn football. Throughout his career, Steven made his mark as a Nuclear Power inspector, where his meticulous work ensured the safety and efficacy of power generation. His dedication to his profession was paralleled by his commitment to his fellow workers, demonstrated by his active participation as a member of the Cold War Patriots. Away from work, Steven's interests painted a picture of a man of diverse talents and passions. An avid gardener, he was known affectionately as the "Bird Man," a nod to his love for nature and the feathered friends he tended to with care. His culinary skills were legendary, and his role as a family prankster kept laughter echoing through the halls of his home. Steven's creative spirit shone brightly in his music; he was a published songwriter and musician whose melodies will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who heard them. As a researcher and published writer, his pursuit of knowledge and truth was relentless, and he carried his patriotic spirit with pride. Those who knew Steven would describe him as friendly, funny, and faith-filled. His ability to connect with others, his quick wit, and his deep spiritual roots made him a beloved figure in his community and beyond. Steven's life was a tapestry of joy, creativity, and service, woven with threads of kindness and laughter. His unwavering faith guided him through life's journey, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
