Glenda Sue Stanley Wilson

Funeral Service for Mrs. Glenda Sue Stanley Wilson, 76, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Mt Zion Baptist Church. Rev. Chad Middlebrooks and Dr. Darwin H. Easter Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home. Mrs. Wilson passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at her residence. She was born on December 6, 1947, in Sylacauga, Alabama to Ealon Red Stanley and Cloudie Mae McDaniel Stanley. She was an active member of Mt Zion Baptist Church. She participated in the WOM of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilson enjoyed baking, fishing, gardening, and decorating cakes. Sue will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, James Wilson of Alexander City, AL, with whom she shared a beautiful and enduring love. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness in her daughter, Amy D. Edwards of Alexander City, AL, and her cherished grandchildren, Abby Sue M. Edwards of Beaver Creek, Ohio, and Mia C. Edwards of Sylacauga, AL. Her sister, Virginia Hameric of Childersburg, AL, will miss Sue's companionship and unwavering support. Sue's memory will also be treasured by her nephews, Chris (Lisa) Raines and Scott (Sissy) Raines, both of Sylacauga, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who were all touched by her generous spirit. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Odean Raines; and her niece, Sharon Morris. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she carried their memories with her always. A lifelong resident of Alabama, Sue's presence was a constant source of joy within her community. Her love for baking was only matched by her skill, with her famous pies and cakes being the highlight of many family gatherings and community events. Sue's passion for gardening was evident in the beautiful blooms that adorned her home and neighborhood each season. She had an eye for beauty, which she expressed through her talent for decorating, especially at her beloved Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Sue's deep faith was the cornerstone of her life. She served on the hospitality committee at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she was a guiding force of love and service. Her thoughtful nature shone brightly as she welcomed new and familiar faces alike, always ensuring that everyone felt at home. Those who knew Sue will remember her as the embodiment of love, generosity, and thoughtfulness. She had a remarkable ability to make each person feel special and valued, whether it was through a kind word, a homemade treat, or a helping hand when it was needed most. Sue's impact on her family, friends, and community cannot be overstated. She lived a life that was full of giving, and the fruits of her labor will continue to be felt for generations to come. Her unwavering kindness and selfless nature were a true testament to the person she was, and her memory will be cherished forever. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
